Orillia’s Repair Café is BACK!

Following several successful and popular Repair Cafés held in Orillia in the past few years, another will take place during Sustainable Orillia week at Orillia Square Mall (1029 Brodie Drive) on Saturday Sept. 18 between 11am-3 pm.

Volunteer fixers will be on hand to help repair:

  • electrical or mechanical items
  • fabric items – sewing, mending (Bring any materials needed to fix your item.)
  • jewelry
  • wood items, furniture (One item per person please)
  • computers and electronics
  • small appliances
  • toys

Earlier repair cafes have diverted a considerable amount – by both weight and bulk – from the landfill. Also, the quality of the item being repaired is often better than a newer replacement. And perhaps it’s a favourite item!

Pre-registration will help check you in faster! When registering, please indicate what item(s) you will be bringing and what time you will arrive. There is a maximum of 25 people in the space at one time, and pre-registered individuals will be given priority. Drop-ins are still welcome. Covid protocols will be in place.
