Orillia Repair Café

October 17, 2026: 11 am – 3 pm @ St James’ Anglican Church

Join us from 11 am – 3 pm on October 17, 2026 at St. James’ Anglican Church for the Orillia Repair Café!

The Orillia Repair Café is a free, community‑based event where volunteers help repair broken household items, encouraging reuse instead of disposal. Part of a global movement that began in 2009, Repair Cafés reduce waste, conserve resources, and build community through shared skills and learning.

After registering, visitors are directed to volunteers at repair stations and engage in the repair process. Successful fixes are celebrated, and the weight of repaired items is recorded to show waste diverted from landfill. Repairs are free; attendees only pay for any required replacement parts. Donations are welcome. Light refreshments are provided.

The types of items repaired include household items such as lamps, small appliances, portable furniture pieces, electronics, technology, clothing, jewellery, toys, and bicycles. One item per guest at a time, please.

This is a family-friendly event with all-ages activities and demonstrations and a book swap/giveaway.

Doors open at 11:00 am and the event runs until 3:00 pm. Registration closes by 2:30 pm.
