Seeding a Severn Wildflower Meadow…

On May 13th, 10 volunteers seeded a 4-acre pipeline corridor at the Simcoe County Forest Silver Creek tract just outside of Orillia, in hopes of converting it to a wildflower meadow for pollinators. We are very grateful to have been a part of this, and a huge shout out and thank you to Matt Thomson for all of his hard work on this amazing project! This is possibly the first project of its kind in Canada and one of the only public tracts of land in Simcoe County that has a pipeline corridor section. Read the blog post here.

And special thanks to our sister organization – Green Orillia for first highlighting this ‘ground breaking’ (literally) project.
