Sustainable Orillia and sponsors—Kia Orillia, Raymond James Ltd. (Barrie) and CIBC—are pleased to announce the 2022 “All Vehicles Electric Weekend” that will take place at the Orillia Fairgrounds on the weekend of September 17-18.
Sustainable Orillia, in support of its mission, has undertaken several Electric Vehicle (EV) events over the last three years. This year, local companies will be showcasing their products.
Participating vendors are Kia Orillia, Subaru of Orillia, Orillia Volkswagen, EV Net {specializing in used EVs), Orillia Motor Sports, Super E Bikes, the Bike Stop, Plug’n Drive and the EV Society. There will be electric bikes and scooters on display—even an electric personal watercraft. And yes, personally-owned electric vehicles will be there, as well—along with owners who will be happy to talk to you about ownership.
Doors to Building #1 will be open Saturday, September 17th from 10 – 5 p.m. and on Sunday, the 18th, from 10 – 4 p.m.—lots of time for attendees to check out vehicles, listen to a few presentations, and test drive one of three electric vehicles provided by “Plug’n Drive.”
Several short talks of interest to those considering buying an EV will be offered over the two days. Attendees will hear talks on
• the advantages of the EV over gasoline-powered vehicles,
• purchasing an EV,
• applying for rebates,
• setting up charging equipment at home,
• how to find charging-stations on road trips,
• the cost and the time it takes to charge vehicles
• how the charging-station network will expand in the future
If you wish to know more about making the move to more sustainable transportation, this event promises to provide the answers to many, or even all, of your questions.
