Kirk McLean holds a culinary arts degree and is currently Partner in Home Hardware Orillia.
In his first career he roamed globally for more than a decade working in the hospitality industry. He held management roles in hotels, casinos and worked for the New Zealand government at their embassy in Belgium.

Kirk has lived in Simcoe County for 8 years and, after switching careers, he feels fortunate to live in such a great community – surrounded by water, minutes from skiing in winter, hiking trails and beautiful roads for cycling in the summer, all less than two hours from an international city and airport. He wants to help look after it, for himself and his children (2 boys), and for future generations.

Kirk’s ability to work with, and lead, multi-generational and multi-cultural groups will benefit Sustainable Orillia in its mission. His business background will provide insight in branding and marketing to give sustainability real traction in the years ahead.
