You won’t want to miss this series of public workshops. Hosted by Sustainable Orillia, this three-part series focuses on ‘carbon’… what it is, how it is affecting our lives and what we can do to both combat carbon’s negative effect, as well as how we might use that knowledge to invest and prosper in the future.
‘A New Lens on Carbon – From Emissions to Offsets’ provides participants with a lively and informative opportunity to learn from experts – both financial and environmental specialists. Facilitated by Jackie Ramler, (Raymond James) a leading financial consultant and portfolio manager in the fast-growing green economy and Stan Mathewson, an experienced environmental manager and founding President of Sustainable Orillia. These sessions will de-mystify carbon emissions and give you the tools to take control, make changes, while investing in your future and the planet’s.
It’s easy to participate… this free of charge series encompasses three, one-hour sessions; each held on a consecutive Wednesday in April. We have some great space at the Orillia Recreation Centre and each session runs from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. There will be refreshments available.
The lineup and dates to save are …
- Wednesday, April 5th (Why Carbon has become a problem and What to do?)
- Wednesday, April 12th (Yes, Carbon is a problem; but it is also a commodity – understanding the carbon market)
- Wednesday, April 19th (Understanding your Carbon Footprint & What you can do about it)
These workshops are an excellent prelude to ‘Earth Day’ on April 22nd. Watch for more news on this important series in the weeks to come and click here for Jackie and Stan’s bio’s.
